Lagos, Sept. 4, 2026 – Dangote Refinery is to open its Initial Public Offering (IPO) within the next 10 to 12 days

Aliko Dangote, the Chief Executive of Dangote Group, disclosed this on Thursday while speaking to investors in Botswana..

He said the IPO is expected to raise about $5 billion, potentially making it the largest public offering in Africa.

“So our dream is that we want to make sure we double the capacity of the refinery, which will take us to 1.4 million barrels per day. The IPO will open in the next 10 to 12 days,” Dangote had said.

The refinery reached its 650,000 barrels per day installed capacity in February and has even exceded it to 700,000 barrels per day.

The company successfully raised $2.5 billion through a private placement few months ago, while also planning for London listing before the end of this year.
